Raw Juice Bar Barbados

Tucked away in the far left hand corner of the Quayside Complex is a small Juice bar that offers a healthy option for Barbadians in the South Coast. With a menu that ranges from raw juice to acai bowls and zucchini noodles, Raw Juice Bar is expanding the health food market in Barbados.

As it is a small space, the colour palette for the interior is very neutral. The laminate wooden floors and faux finished wood beams and details make it a warm and welcoming destination.
As one enters the Juice Bar small healthy treats welcome you on the double height counter table. This double height surface acts as a visual and functional division of the space dedicated to the employees versus the customer. The cashier surface is lower making it accessible for those in the wheelchair.

Although it is a small space located in a spot that doesn’t receive a lot of sunlight, the recessed down lighting and white walls in Raw Juice Bar create a bright space that encourages the idea of clean eating. With that being said the seating area does lack the appeal that the rest of the space possesses. I propose that with the addition of a shelf with books and health magazines, hanging light fixtures and the addition of small friendly plants the seating area will be more inviting.
(see image below for my proposal)

In all, this space shows the increase in importance of Interior Design in Barbados.
Just looking at my acai bowl is making me crave having it again. Sigh. Until next time Raw Juice Bar.
